Hi there!

I’m McKenzie and I make stuff like it’s my job. More specifically, I design brands & develop websites for people that want to share their amazing ideas with the world! I also love to do personal projects. Whether it’s through design, photography, knitting, calligraphy, cooking, crafting — I’ll try just about anything! My motto is: Why be a master in one thing when you can be great at dozens of things.

I received my BFA from Brigham Young University in the prestigious Graphic Design Program. I always have a good self-help book in hand and a ball of yarn when traveling. It’s amazing how many skills and creative outlets there are to explore and I want to explore them all! I hope to never stop learning new things.

History of Me

I was a quiet, creative child. I can see that young girl sitting at her desk with the lamp on, tracing intricate geometric coloring book pages and then placing each in it’s own plastic sheet protector inside a large binder — and I adore her. Not much has changed since then, I am still this creative, hardworking, entrepreneurial girl who stays very organized and has a system for everything.

Fast forward to college, I found myself in the prestigious BFA program at BYU and was constantly fighting imposter syndrome. I didn’t quite feel like I belonged. Towards the end of school I took a HTML and CSS class and something clicked. I loved the combination of the fluidity of design and the black-and-white answers to development.

Fun Facts:

1. I would wear dresses every day if I could. In 2016, I started a sort of ritual every month I had a negative pregnancy test I would buy myself a new dress. Although it might not be the best financial decision, nothing is better than getting something in the mail! We are currently expecting our first child in February 2019!

2. I am obsessed with bucket lists and love to take advantage of anything new and exciting. Sky diving, no problem! Swim with whales, yes please!

3. I met my husband at the age of 18 and we wrote letters to each other for two years while he was across the world on an LDS mission.

4. Not only do I love trying new things, but my husband does too! He has started painting and is pretty spectacular at it. Thanks Bob Ross! Our more recent hobby: homemade pasta and artisan bread.

5. I learned to play the piano when I was 4 and took lessons for almost 12 years. It is my go-to when I am stressed or just want to refresh my brain. If anyone has a secret hole in the internet to find the best intermediate sheet music please share!

Thank you very much for taking the time to explore my site. You can explore my work here! Please don’t hesitate to contact me, I look forward to hearing from you!
