Strong anti-inflammatory properties and soothes irritations and redness in skin. Used as toner because of this.
- collect your petals (about 4 flowers worth) make sure to choose roses that are edible + free from pesticides. Dog rose would be a great foraged rose for this too.
- Make sure your roses are free from dust or insects, I checked them over and gave them a rinse.
- add the petals to a pan and add enough water to cover the petals.
- Put a small bowl inside the pan (this will collect your rosewater).
- Now place a bowl/the lid on your pan upside down. You need to make sure there is a tiny gap between the dish and lid so that your rosewater condenses on the lid and can be caught in your bowl.
- Bring to a simmer and add ice cubes to your lid. When the rosewater steam hits the lid of the pan it will then condense and be caught in your bowl!
- You’ll need to add more ice cubes as it’s simmering, the whole process should take about 30 minutes
