Christ-Centered Easter Ideas

Make, Fill, and Light an Oil Lamp

Make with clay with the video tutorial linked or buy a clay 1st-century shaped lamp online. Read the parable of the 10 Virgins (Matt. 25:1-13 & more mentioned in D&C 45:56-59). Fill the lamp with oil you have at home, add a wick of fabric and light to watch it glow and last for hours.

Eat figs on Holy Monday

The day after His Triumphal Entry, Jesus cursed a fig tree. Read the scriptures about this story (Matt. 21:18-19; Mark 21:18-22) and eat some figs.

“Find the colt” in the yard

Print out a donkey or use a donkey figurine and have your children go out searching for the colt for Jesus to ride on.

(Matt. 21:1-5, Mark 11:1-6, Luke 19:28-34)
